Submissions

for submissions is midnight, March 31, 2021. |

You
must submit the following on the registration form: |

a.

Your
name, mailing address, email, phone number, and a photo of yourself. |
|
b.
|
A
PDF of your original play as follows:
Submissions should be saved as a pdf with the format: YourName_Submission
Title. Please number your pages and include your name and title
on the page headers.
Please follow these standard formatting rules: |
|
|
✔ Act
and Scene Headings are Centered. |
| |
|
✔ Character’s
Names are Centered and Capitalized. |
|
|
✔ Stage
Directions are Indented one tab and Italicized. |
| |
|
✔ Character’s
Names in Stage Directions are Capitalized. |
| |
|
✔ Parenthetical
Stage Directions are used for Small
Actions. |

|
Complete
an ‘Original Works’ form: click on ‘forms’
on SDA’s website. |
| 5.
|
Check
one of the following for your submission: ‘Middle Years
Play’ or ‘High School Play’. |
| 6.
|
Check
an Option: Option 1 – Playwriting only; Option 2- Playwriting
and Scene Presentation. |
| 7.
|
If choosing Option 2, when submitting the ‘Scene Presentation’
portion of your entry, you must start your video as follows:
|
|
a.
|
State
your name and the names of all performers in the scene; |
|
b.
|
A
short introduction of the work you are presenting; |
|
c.
|
Submit
your memorized video recording either with or without costumes
and/or props. Specific backgrounds can be used but are not required; |
|
d.
|
Attach
your YouTube link of your performance to the entry form. |
| 8.
|
Your
parent/guardian (if 18 and under) must complete a Student Membership
and Participant Application. Note: If you are choosing
Option 2, SDA must receive a Student Membership and Participation
Application for all student performers in the scene. |
| 9.
|
All
Adults, Associate Memberships, Post-Secondary/Graduate Students
must complete the applicable membership application on SDA’s
website. |

Competitors
must live or study in the Province of Saskatchewan, with the
inclusion of Lloydminster, Alberta. |
| 2. |
Entries
will be adjudicated and awards presented as determined by the
adjudicator. The adjudicator’s decision is final. |
| 3. |
Selected
plays will be published in Sask Drama’s Digital My Lines
Publication. |
| 4. |
Option
2 Scene entries will be posted on SDA’s YouTube Channel.
|
| 5. |
If
you have selected the ‘Dramaturgy’ option on your
registration form, Theatre Saskatchewan will send you further
information. |
