Thursday,
October 13th is early registration and a social starting at 6:30.
Sessions begin on Friday at 8:55 and end at 3:35. Sessions start
again
at 9:00 on Saturday and go till 12:15. Brunch is scheduled for
12:15 - 1:15 along with SAEC's AGM.

Adrian
Stimson is the keynote (speaking at the evening banquet). He
will be doing two workshops: Morning workshop - Middle Years to
High School, but can be used for all ages. It will include a brief
historical overview of performance art leading into contemporary
practice. The session will focus on body, movement and action.

Donna Kriekle (Saskatchewan artist) Friday morning: Drawing
- appropriate for Elementary to Middle Years but can be used for
any age: Discover basic drawing skills and how to create both realist
and expressive images. Using various mediums we'll develop a 3 part
series of lesson strategies to assist students in creating with
both their tools and imaginations.
Lana Patterson (Cumberland House) will be presenting a
workshop on Friday morning on "Adapting a Script for the
needs of your students." Lana works with First Nations students
in Charlebois Community School and will share her insights.
Cheryl
Scherle (Retired teacher). Among other things, Cheryl designs
sets for Regina Summer Stage and Regina Little Theatre and is
a Backstage Adjudicator for SDA). Theworkshopwill give "Techie
and Set Building Tips." Suitable for all ages

Dramalympics - this is a hands-on workshop that uses SDA's
Dramalympics resource.
Sherron
Burns (Living Sky Arts Education Consultant) - "Building
Ensemble through Collaborative Puppetry." Suitable for all
ages but focussed for Middle Years to High School. It is a hands-on
workshop.

Adrian
Stimson - Public/School Art - Appropriate for any age - This
workshop will include a brief overview of public and school art
projects. Participants will be through the process of creating,
painting and then building an installation.
Donna
Kriekle (Saskatchewan artist) Friday afternoon: Watercolor
Lab - This workshop will help you to assist young artist to discover
their personal style. The three projects covered will encompass
the five basic elements of painting.
Bradley
Hayward (Cdn Playwright originally from Oxbow) will be doing
a "artist talk" at lunch on Friday. He will be working
with students in the afternoon to form a Collective with a focus
on scripting. Participants will learn how to write a collective
play in a few simple stepsrom collecting their ideas into
a cohesive whole. Scenes will begin to take shape and a play will
be developed by the end of the workshop
Sherron
Burns,Chris Kent and Shannon MacFarlane (teachers
from Living Sky School Division) will be presenting "Big
Ideas in Arts Education." Focus will be on student learning
and less on product. Participants will be guided through creative
exercises and a collaborative process to identify instructional
practices. Middle Years Units will be shared with participants.

Karen
Wooller (Saskatoon teacher) will be doing two workshops:
1.
Mask Making: Three Dimensional Sculpture. Appropriate for Middle
Years and up.
It is a hands-on art lesson. Handout will
be provided.
2.
Printmaking - Mono-Print using glass and water soluble paint. Appropriate
for any grade level. This is a hands-on
session.
Jennifer
Briere (Regina teacher). This session focuses on "Drama
Voices for Kindergarten to grade 6". This is an interactive
workshop.
Tabitha Booth (Regina Teacher), Ian Nelson (SDA Front
of House Adjudicator, Saskatoon), Cheryl Scherle and Bradley
Hayward will lead a panel on "The Importance of a Script"
and will share their creative processes.
Adrian
Stimson will repeat both his sessions from Friday on Saturday.
