SDA will pay selected applicants a $200.00 allowance to attend the Spring Provincial Festival as an apprentice for the entire three days of Festival. Participants who attend a regional festival meeting may also be granted financial assistance from their region. However, it is up to the applicant to request funds from their particular region while attending their regional festival. Selected applicants will also receive a noon luncheon with a guest speaker and admission to all performances and adjudications at no cost. Participants must 'check in' with Festival staff before entering the theatre, workshops etc. If all of the events are not attended 10% of the $200.00 awarded will be deducted for each play, workshop etc. missed.

The Apprenticeship Program Liaison Officer is SDA's Education Committee Chair.
He/She will:
Arrange appropriate debriefing time(s) with other apprentices.
Communicate with play directors to arrange opportunities to attend
   Technical Rehearsals.
Communicate with FOH and Back Stage Adjudicators and the Stage
Coordinator to arrange appropriate times to debrief.

APPRENTICESHIP APPLICATION FORM

The Program Committee will view the applications and chose one apprentice from each geographical area (up to 12 participants) based on the program criteria. In the event of more than one person applying from each area 'first come first served' will apply as long as the person is eligible using the program criteria. If you are planning on entering Festival and should win 'Best Overall Production' you would be ineligible to participate in this program. If a chosen apprentice be unable to attend through unforeseen circumstances, the Program Committee will choose an alternate from the same geographical area. All applicants will be notified whether or not they are accepted into the program.

If you require more information regarding the goals, objectives and intent of this program to apply for assistance through your School Division or other grants, please contact the Provincial Office.
